Barry has served in a variety of roles in overseas missions; Logistics in Liberia in 2006, chief ICT officer in 2007 in Lebanon and civil-military coordination and operations officer in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in 2011.

Lavinia Morris is Head of IT for the aircraft leasing company SMBC Aviation Capital where she has responsibility for the establishment and running of their IT Department, together with the delivery of major Business Change programmes. Lavinia has spent the past 18 months delivering a large business transformation project across the group. With a background in Electronic Engineering, Lavinia has worked in the IT sector for over 20 years and has spent much of her IT Leadership career working in the Financial Services sector, previously heading up IT Operations for the Life Assurance company Friends First.
Lavinia is also a regular commentator in the area of Cloud Computing and is the current chair of the Irish Internet Associations Working Group for Cloud Computing. She has been a member of the ISO National Mirror Committee (Ireland) with responsibility for standards setting in the area of Cloud Computing and was involved in the development of a national standard for Cloud procurement in conjunction with the NSAI.

Eddie started his career with UK High Street retailer, Storehouse, as a Corporate Treasury accountant. In 1992, he joined Philips Electronics in the UK as a Business controller and moved in 1998 to the Dutch multinationals HQ to take up the position of Finance Director EMEA for the TV Business. From 2004 to 2006, he led a Finance Transformation Programme which focused on implementing best in class systems and processes in the area of business planning for Philips Group.

Returning to Ireland to join Tesco in 2007, he took up the position of Head of IT in 2008.As Head of IT, Eddie’s role is focused on

aligning IT activities with business priorities which are orientated around serving our Customers better and helping Tesco Colleagues to work more efficiently and effectively through new and better Technology.

Eddie is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA).

Martin Curley

Martin Curley is a vice president at Intel Corporation and director of Intel Labs Europe, the company's network of more than 40 research labs, development centers and open innovation collaborations spanning the European region. He also serves as a senior principal engineer at Intel Labs Europe, which is charged with helping to advance both Intel research and Europe's ability to compete in the global society. Curley leads Intel's research and innovation engagement with the European Commission and the broader European Union research ecosystem. He is also a co-director of the Innovation Value Institute, an industry-academic open innovation consortium that strives to promote structural change in the way companies and governments achieve value through information technology.

Before assuming his current position in 2009, Curley was global director of IT innovation at Intel. Earlier in his Intel career, he held a number of senior IT management and automation positions for Intel in the United States and Europe. Before joining Intel in 1992, he held management and research positions at General Electric in Ireland and at Philips Electronics in the Netherlands.

Curley is the author or co-author of three books on technology management for value, innovation and entrepreneurship and has published multiple papers in the area of IT, entrepreneurship and innovation management. He is a Member of the Royal Irish Academy, fellow of the Institution of Engineers of Ireland, the British Computer Society, the Irish Computer Society and the Irish Academy of Engineering. He currently chairs the European Union Open Innovation Strategy and Policy group, an industry-led group advising on strategic priorities for open and service innovation.

Curley has a bachelor's degree in electronic engineering and a master's degree in business studies, both from University College Dublin, Ireland. He earned his Ph.D. in information systems from the National University of Ireland, Maynooth.

David is the Head of IT for Aurivo Co-operative Society Limited since January 2014.  In that time, he has partnered with Aurivo’s business leaders to transform processes and systems and to renew all aspects of the IT landscape.   In David’s previous role, he was responsible for transforming and managing IT services in seven countries including the US, UK and Indonesia for the start-up Waterford Wedgwood Royal Doulton (WWRD) organisation following the demise of Waterford Wedgwood Plc in 2009.  Before WWRD, he was Head of Divisional IT for Waterford Crystal Limited, transforming IT services in the US and Ireland to align them to organisational needs.   David’s business and IT experience is as broad as it is deep and spans everything from SAP ERP to Cloud DR and Office 365 and supply chain and process reengineering to change management.

David holds a BSc in Applied Computing and an MSc in Business Innovation and has been a member of the IEEE Computer Society for the last 17 years

Derek is the Technology Director with The Irish Times.  Established in 1859, The Irish Times is a leading independent media organisation producing top quality news, opinion and analysis across its digital and print platforms.  In 2016, The Irish Times won The National Journalism Award for Digital Innovation in addition to three other awards.

Derek leads the ongoing development and implementation of the technology and innovation strategy to ensure The Irish Times is well positioned for transformation and growth.   

Previously Derek was the first Group CIO of European agri-business Origin Enterprises Plc where he led an award winning technology-enabled transformation programme in a dynamic M&A environment.  Prior to that, he was Managing Director of Siemens Business Services, leading that business through a turnaround process to a position of sustained profitability and growth.  He has also held senior consulting positions with Version 1, KPMG and JBA.  

Derek studied in the Dublin Institute of Technology and the University of Hertfordshire.  He is an elected member of the Dublin Chamber of Commerce Council and is a Fellow of the Irish Computer Society.  In 2014 he was recognised by Microsoft on their EMEA Business Visionary shortlist.

George has worked as the Head of ICT (CIO) of the Irish Prison Service for the last fourteen years. George has previously worked in ICT in Systems Analysis, Programming, ICT Training, Databases, Operations and Networks over his career and has an Honours Degree in Information Technology from Trinity College Dublin.

George has been involved in a significant number of large projects including the PULSE project in the Irish Police Force (An Garda Siochana) as well as the Prisoner Information Management System, Prisoner Account Management System and Prisoner Healthcare Management Systems in his current position. He has a detailed knowledge of infrastructure as well as systems having delivered a number of large infrastructure projects including Data Centre setup, Disaster Recovery, large scale phone systems and Wide Area Networks. George has also delivered shared services across the Irish Department of Justice Sector including Wi-Fi, Video Conferencing, Unified Communications and Managed Print Service. George and his team also deliver an ICT disposal service to the entire Irish Public sector.

Since 2015 year George has become chairperson of the EuroPris ICT Expert Group which is responsible for providing expert ICT advice to prison ICT staff and for organising prisons ICT technical workshops across Europe.

George has day to day responsibility for 3,500 users (covering 21 sites) with a team of 38 technical staff.

Rory has spent over fifteen years as CIO of Nissan Ireland, where he is responsible for all technology, information systems and innovation, as well as facilities management and contracts management.  He is responsible for the introduction of VoIP, Virtualisation, Clustering, Business Continuity, and is also responsible for security and systems availability, and company relocations.  Prior to joining Nissan, he was the Head of I.T. for the Irish Stock Exchange in Dublin for three years, where he oversaw the transition from tracking share prices on blackboards to a fully online trading system hosted on the Deutsche Börse Xetra platform in Frankfort – a project that was completed in just five months.  He is a past board member and President of the Association of Information Managers in Ireland (AIMI), is a member of ITSMF Ireland, IASA Global, and the Irish Computer Society.  He also spent eleven years working in the cable TV industry.”

Michael Winterson join Equinix in September 2007 when the company acquired London AIM listed IXEurope. At Equinix, he held the position of VP of Marketing adn VP of Sales before his current role. Joining IXEurope as part of the startup management team in January 2000, he brings over 14 years of datacenter services experience and held senior positions in country management, sales and marketing. Before IXEurope, Michael was involved in two other technology startups in Europe that were eventually solde to US and Japanese companies. 

He holds a bachelor's degree in Economics and French from Northwestern University and a master's degree in International Economics from the Graduate Institute - Geneva. An itinerant American, Michael fell in love with Europe at an early age and has never looked back.

Martina is a Security / Risk Professional with more than 20 years’ experience in all areas of Information Security in Financial Services. Having previously filled a number of roles in Information Technology with AIB, she joined SMBC Aviation Capital as Information Security Manager in 2014. Martina was responsible for establishing the Information Security function during a major business transformation project, which involved re-platforming all applications and rebuilding the core IT infrastructure. In her current role she is responsible for all aspects of Information Security in SMBC Aviation Capital across the globe. Areas of specialisation include risk assessment, standards and good practice as well as cybercrime prevention and user awareness. Martina has a particular interest in the human dimension with regard to embedding good information security and when designing control frameworks. Martina holds a Bachelor of Financial Services from UCD and is a fellow of the Irish Information Security forum. As well as CISSP, CISM and CISA, she also holds a qualification in Advertising.
