Jonathan has over 18 years of experience in finance, telecommunications, professional services and the public sector.  Although the majority of this has been in technology roles, he has previously been a Head of Internal Audit and has a sound understanding of risk management along with its importance for the information security sector.  He has held a wide range of technical and management roles during his career and is currently Chief Information Security Officer for Hargreaves Lansdown.

Mark Evans began his career in the NHS as an IT Manager, before progressing through various national and international roles to become Head of IT for RLB (the world’s largest independent quantity surveying practise) in EMEA.

Mark has built a multiple award-winning team and was included in 2016’s list of top UK CIOs by CIO magazine for the work undertaken to position RLB in the vanguard of cloud-based organisations, having moved all services to Cloud with the intention to ultimately move all business services to SaaS platforms as part of his “Zero Infrastructure” initiative.

Kalman Tiboldi is the Chief Business Innovation Officer of TVH Group, worldwide market leader in replacement parts and accessories for material handling and industrial vehicles, and has over 35-year experience in using information technology for business process innovation. Kalman merged IT and Business in a new department called Business Innovation through IT (BI²T) and managed to promote the collaboration between IT and Business as driving force behind innovation.  With his team he has successfully implemented a flawless IT infrastructure with flexible applications, based on service-oriented architecture, using DevOps, turning TVH into a real-time, extended enterprise. Providing the leadership and direction towards the development and implementation of information systems, Kalman is taking advantage from Cloud-based Services, Big Data and Internet of Things and strongly support Open Source solutions. Kalman holds a Civil engineer polytechnic degree from Military Technical Academy of Bucharest and a Master of Mathematics and Computer Science degree from University of Bucharest. He was named IT Manager of the Year’ – Large Organizations in 2004 and 2011 by Leading European Trade Publication, Data News.

Amit Varma is Vice President - Technology at CitiGroup Ireland. In his role as Head of eBanking Channels Product Technology within Citi, Amit is responsible for the strategic direction and execution of Citi's Risk Management Platform and Client Interface Platform. Over his career spanning 20 years, Amit has pioneered technology innovation and execution across Big Data, Cloud, Machine-Learning, Biometric, Omnichannel Interface and Web technologies for firms, such as Citi, Fidelity Investments, Verizon, IBM and American Express. Amit has a Masters in Business Administration from Michael Smurfit Business School, UCD Dublin and a Bachelors in Engineering from Mumbai University.

Emil Berthelsen is a Principal Analyst at Machina Research, leading the Enterprise IoT stream, and focuses on Big Data, data analytics, Enterprise IoT Platforms and SLAs. Prior to joining Machina Research, Emil worked at Analysys Mason, KPMG Consulting, BT Consulting, and Alexander Proudfoot plc, building more than 25 years of experience in management, strategic and research consulting.

From a consulting background, Emil has concentrated on and delivered projects in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) industry, and in the past six years, focused on emerging technology and business areas such as mobile enterprise applications, mobile payments, APIs, developer communities, M2M, IoT and Big Data. This has led to a significant number of research and consulting projects, advising global clients on new M2M/IoT products, services and market opportunities, identifying new channels and strategic partnerships, and providing market sizing, competitor intelligence and insights around these emerging market and technology trends.

Emil has chaired, presented and led panel discussions at M2M, IoT and Big Data conferences in Europe, Asia, Africa and the US, and contributes regularly to articles on these topics in industry journals, online news portals and blog services. More recently, Emil has started to research and speak on the changes from M2M to IoT, the business transformation led by Enterprise IoT and the impact Enterprise IoT has on data management, analytics, platforms and SLAs for enterprises. Emil holds an MPhil in International Relations from Cambridge University.

Prof. Angela Sasse

M. Angela Sasse FREng is the Professor of Human-Centred Technology in the Department of Computer Science at University College London, UK.  A usability researcher by training, she started investigating the causes and effects of usability issues with security mechanisms in 1996.  In addition to studying specific mechanisms such as passwords, biometrics, and access control, her research group has developed human-centred frameworks that explain the role of security, privacy, identity and trust in human interactions with technology.  She is currently the Director of the multidisciplinary UK Research Institute for Science of Cyber Security, funded by EPSRC, and GCHQ and was elected a Fellow or the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2015.

Jacob Abboud

Jacob Abboud is Chief Information Officer of Allianz Insurance plc.  The company is focused on the provision of property and casualty insurance to commercial and personal customers in Great Britain and is the UK insurance arm of Allianz SE, the global financial services provider and the world’s largest general insurer.  Jacob is also a Board Non Executive Director (NED) at the MIB (Motor Insurers Bureau) and has recently been appointed as a NED for Premier Business Care Brokers.

 

Prior to this, Jacob was IT Director Savings, Insurance and Digital at Legal & General.  Prior to that, Jacob worked at a technology product company, Fluency, as the Chief Technology Officer and VP of Product Development. Jacob also held roles in Retail Banking & Credit Cards as well as Investment Banking.

 

He is an Engineering graduate of the University of Bath where he was also awarded a Doctor of Philosophy in Computer-Aided Engineering.  He is a Chartered member of the British Computer Society and also the Chartered Insurance Institute.

Jeremy Lilley

Jeremy Lilley joined techUK in January 2016 and is responsible for driving techUK’s Cloud, Data, Analytics & AI programme, including techUK’s work on Data Protection and International Data Transfers. He also has responsibility for techUK's activities on Intellectual Property and Copyright, including the running of techUK’s Intellectual Property Policy Group. 

Prior to joining techUK, Jeremy worked in the House of Commons for a number of years running a Member of Parliament’s office, undertaking all research and campaign functions.  He holds a BA (Hons) degree in Politics from the University of York and an MSc in Public Policy from University College London.

Peter Williamson

In November 2015 Peter became the director responsible for technology and facilitating strategic growth at Raymond Brown Construction, a privately-owned civil engineering company with a well-earned reputation for delivering projects successfully.  Peter had worked as Head of IT across Raymond Brown Group’s four businesses prior to this, and was heavily involved in the Group’s recent demerger.  Now, whilst managing day to day IT, he’s also responsible for business improvement projects, keeps a watching brief on core sustainability KPIs and facilitates SMART business planning at a national and regional level.

 

Peter is passionate about using technology to find a competitive edge within the regional civil engineering marketplace.  Peter’s team work hard every day to provide a modern workplace with intuitive work-flow driven systems; It’s all part of a board-driven initiative to make Raymond Brown Construction a Great Place to Work that retains and attracts top talent. 

Peter had previously worked for Hanson, the global building products producer. Joining as a graduate-trainee with an IC degree in geology led to managing complex extractive and manufacturing units across the country.  Peter “fell into IT” by way of a global business improvement project when Hanson was bought out by Heidelberg Cement in 2007.  Peter’s original background in analytical science, heavy engineering management and logistics is evident to anyone who works with him however!
